PRP: from orthopaedics to aesthetics
Fifty years of hospital evidence, pointed at your skin.
By Emma Smyth ·
PRP started its journey in the 1970s inside hospital settings, originally used to support wound healing and recovery. By the early 2000s, orthopaedic teams were using it to repair tendons and muscle tissue.
Dermatology followed soon after, recognising how those same growth factors could influence collagen, texture, and overall skin behaviour. It applies the same regenerative principles first seen in hospital wound care and orthopaedics; only directed at the skin and scalp.
Whether used for skin vitality, hair density, or general regenerative support, PRP works with your biology rather than around it.

General writing only goes so far. A consultation is complimentary and you leave with a plan written for your skin, not for everybody's.
