Why Profhilo works best at six months
Leave it much longer and you are starting again rather than continuing.
By Emma Smyth ·

Profhilo is a stabilised hyaluronic acid that spreads rather than sits. It draws water into the tissue and, over the following weeks, nudges the fibroblasts into producing collagen and elastin of their own.
That biological response has a half-life. At around six months the hydration benefit has faded and the collagen signalling has stopped. Treat at that point and you are building on what is already there. Wait twelve months and you are, effectively, starting the course again.
This is the single most common reason patients feel a treatment "stopped working". It did not stop working. The interval slipped.
